Thomas Tuchel's touchline reaction to Conor Gallagher moment vs West Ham goes viral

Thomas Tuchel's touchline reaction to Conor Gallagher moment vs West Ham goes viral

He wasn't happy.

Footage of Thomas Tuchel's 'furious' reaction to a moment involving Conor Gallagher during Saturday's Premier League clash against West Ham has emerged online.

With the hopes of breaking into Chelsea's first-team plans, the highly-rated Gallagher returned to Stamford Bridge this summer after impressing on loan at Crystal Palace last season under Patrick Vieira,

In a chat with The Telegraph in pre-season, the 22-year-old opened up about a conversation with Thomas Tuchel.

“I said to him that I’m ready to play for Chelsea,” Gallagher said. “It was a phone call at the end of the season. Everyone was having some time off, so it was the easiest way to do it.

"It was 15 or 20 minutes and we both got out of the phone call what we needed. It was clear after that.”

Gallagher has since featured in all of Chelsea's opening five games in the Premier League, including Saturday's dramatic 2-1 win against West Ham.

After going 1-0 down shortly after the hour mark, full-back Ben Chilwell equalised before a late goal from Kai Havertz sealed all three points for the Blues.

Despite picking up all three points, it was a frustrating afternoon in spells for Tuchel, who was visably frustrated by one particular moment involving Gallagher.

As you can see in the fan footage above, Tuchel expresses his frustration when Gallagher fails to play the ball earlier than he'd have liked.

The German jumps around on the Stamford Bridge touchline before shouting and walking away.

One fan commented on the clip, saying: "He wants them to attack, take risks but subconsciously they’re always playing it safe, passing backwards and not attacking the spaces."

Another said: "This happens every game. Tuchel is clearly training them differently than what they play in matches because you can see how much hes expecting Gallagher to go forward there and how mad he is when he doesnt."

Chelsea's number 23 was eventually brought off in the 60th minute for Armando Broja, who recently signed a new six-year deal with the club, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2028.
