Chelsea owner Todd Boehly likes tweet to show his opinion on Leandro Trossard and Mykhailo Mudryk

The owner has been on a bit of a spending spree since buying Chelsea last summer, but he didn't end up signing Trossard.

Todd Boehly has got involved in a Twitter poll over whether Chelsea or Premier League rivals Arsenal have done the best recent transfer business.

The latest Chelsea owner, who bought the club last year, has certainly not been reticent to get out his chequebook since buying the club.

Boehly has spent around £450 million since last summer, with Mykhailo Mudryk becoming one of the latest wave of players in the January transfer window.

It looked like the Ukrainian forward was heading for a move to Arsenal, following a run of hints on social media, but thanks to an argument about his game time in north London, it was the Blues who captured his signature.

That left Mikel Arteta looking for an alternative forward to sign in the winter window, with the Gunners' boss believing they need more cover in their push for the Premier League title.

Rather than spend the near €100 million they'd have needed for Mudryk, the north Londoners have paid far less to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton.

The Belgian was available following his decision not to sign a new deal with Roberto de Zerbi's side, and was signed for around £30 million, despite previously turning them down.

One fan on social media wanted to know which team from the capital had done the better transfer business, when it came to Trossard and Mudryk.

And others soon noticed that Boehly himself had got involved on Twitter, liking the post to show his support for the former Shakhtar Donetsk player.

It would have been much funnier if the American had accidentally said that Trossard was the better business but the amusement lies in it being so bizzare to see an owner get involved in this way.

Mudryk could make his debut for the Blues this weekend, as they take on Liverpool in what is shockingly a tie between 10th and ninth in the table.

Graham Potter will certainly hope that the latest forward makes a better first impression than the last time he handed a debut to a high profile forward.

Joao Felix arrived at Stamford Bridge on loan earlier this month but the Atletico Madrid star was sent off in his first game, against Fulham.

He won't be seen until next month, after picking up a three match suspension, and with a new player in his position now having arrived, Potter will have more players to juggle.

Despite spending so big on the former Shakhtar star, the signings have not ended there for Boehly and his team, with another forward on his way.

PSV winger Noni Madueke, who started his career at Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur's academies, looks set to move to Stamford Bridge as well.

Potter and his team are in desperate need of a boost, having fallen 10 points behind fourth place, in the race to finish in the Champions League qualification spots.
