Sky Sports reporter reveals what he's heard about Harry Kane as Spurs reject new Bayern bid

Tottenham have rejected a fresh Bayern Munich bid for Harry Kane, it has been claimed.

David Ornstein has reported that while the clubs held talks in London last week, they remain some £25million apart in their valuation of the England captain.

Bayern had a first bid of €70million (£60million) plus add-ons for Kane rejected in June, before a second increased proposal was turned down at the start of last month.

The Bundesliga champions have now seen another bid to land the striker before the start of the new season rebuffed.

The transfer guru added in the Athletic that Bayern officials are due to hold a pre-scheduled meeting on Monday with signings among the topics to be discussed.

Kane, who return to pre-season training with Tottenham on July 12, is into the final year of his contract, though the north Londoners are still hoping they can convince the 30-year-old to extend.

Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol reiterated it would take £100million for Tottenham to accept an offer for Kane, with the player keen for his future to be resolved before the season starts.

The journalist said: "That bid was worth around €100million, which I think is around £85million. Now we told you that was not going to be enough. £85million is not enough.

"It would take at least £100million for Spurs to be tempted to sell Harry Kane.

"So that is the latest but as far as the player is concerned, he's made it very clear - 'Sort my future out this week.'"

New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has repeatedly insisted a swift resolution to to the Kane transfer saga is needed. Last month the Australian said: “I think, for everyone concerned, we don’t want to be doing it for too long. I don’t think that is good for anyone.”

Moreover, after the north London outfit's 5-1 friendly win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday, in which Kane netted four goals, Postecoglou said he was in “open dialogue” with Kane and the club's hierarchy about the situation.

He added: “We can’t wait (around) for a decision either way to get going. We don’t have the time or the luxury to do that. I’m working with what’s in front of me. You saw today that Harry certainly is invested in what we’re doing and we’ll keep on doing that unless something changes.”
