Mohamed Salah’s potential move from Liverpool to Al Ittihad just got more likely after a big stumbling block was removed.

Despite the European transfer window shutting last Friday, Liverpool fans have been left sweating over Salah’s future.

This is due to the fact that the transfer window for Saudi Arabian clubs are still open until September 7.

Saudi Professional League side Al Ittihad have been heavily linked with a move for Liverpool’s talisman.

According to the Daily Mail, the Saudi Arabian side are preparing a mammoth £200 million bid in order to test Liverpool’s resolves. In addition, a potential stumbling block has also been removed.

The above-mentioned stumbling block is the fact that Spanish defender Sergio Ramos rejected the chance to sign for Al Ittihad.

Instead, the former Real Madrid captain decided to return to boyhood club Sevilla.

Ramos was branded as a potential stumbling block for Salah moving to Al Ittihad due to the previous on-field incident between the pair.

Back in the 2018 Champions League final, Ramos fouled Salah and left the Liverpool man with a shoulder injury.

The injury forced Salah to be replaced in the first half as he left the field in tears, with Liverpool later losing the final 3-1.

With Ramos now not joining Al Ittihad, Salah could be more open to making the big-money move.

Salah was on the scoresheet on Sunday as Liverpool won 3-0 against Aston Villa.

After the match, teammate Dominik Szoboszlai spoke about Salah, he said: “He wants to stay here.

“He wants to be here, he wants to stay with us. At the end, he stayed and that's great news. He's a top player.”

Whilst manager Jurgen Klopp said: “No. He didn't tell me, but he didn't have to. He speaks with his training and performances and behaviour. He is completely here and if Dom said that, fine.

“Mo doesn't have to come into my office and tell me, 'By the way, boss... (I'm not going)’.”
