Man Utd youngster Facundo Pellistri set for move away from Old Trafford after furious incident with Bruno Fernandes spotted

Man Utd youngster Facundo Pellistri set for move away from Old Trafford after furious incident with Bruno Fernandes spotted

He is set to depart.

Manchester United could allow Facundo Pellistri to leave the club on loan in the final days of the summer transfer window, it has been claimed.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Pellistri is highly rated at United but the club are open to loaning him out for the upcoming season for regular game time.

The 21-year-old has featured from the bench across the opening two Premier League games but has only started in one of his 12 senior appearances for the club across his career.

And while United are happy with Pellistri’s development, the club reportedly feel the player would benefit from starting every week.

The Uruguay international will allegedly move to Sheffield United, with the Blades eager to reinforce their squad following the loss of a number of key players this summer.

However, it is not exactly straightforward. Premier League clubs can only register two domestic loans at one time, with Paul Heckingbottom’s side targeting other players on similar deals.

While Sheffield United admire Pellistri they must allegedly finalise plans for the remainder of the window before committing to a deal for him.

The publication claimed Ten Hag is a fan of Pellistri and it is understood United are keen to reward the Uruguay international with a new contract. However, it is uncertain whether a new one will be signed ahead of any possible loan exit.

One of Pellistri’s most notable involvements in the opening games of the campaign was when he was berated by skipper Bruno Fernandes in a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham.

Fernandes was spotted shouting down youngster Pellistri after an attack was stopped in its tracks, which led to the Portuguese international receiving criticism from former Manchester City star Micah Richards.

On Fernandes losing his cool, Richards said on The Rest is Football podcast: "It's getting embarrassing now. The young lad Pellistri comes on, Fernandes is trying to get his team playing and I totally understand he's frustrated.

"Pellistri made a run, Fernandes didn't see him and [so] he made a different run but because he wasn't where [Fernandes] wanted him to be, he's going off at Pellistri. It's every time.

“I saw an interview with him the other day and he said he needs to be emotional when he performs because it makes him play better. But I feel like his body language on the pitch is disturbing the rest of the team and it's just not a good look at all. It's pathetic at times."
