Liverpool 'include secret clause in Moises Caicedo offer' which may help them beat Chelsea to record transfer

Liverpool 'include secret clause in Moises Caicedo offer' which may help them beat Chelsea to record transfer

Liverpool and Chelsea are going head to head for Moises Caicedo

Liverpool have reportedly included a secret clause in their ambitious bid to beat Chelsea to the signature of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

For the majority of the summer transfer window, Caicedo has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.

However, on Thursday night, it was reported that Liverpool have agreed a British record £111 million deal to sign Caicedo.

Despite Liverpool and Brighton reaching an agreement, it was reported that Caicedo wants to join Chelsea.

With all eyes on the next development of this crazy transfer saga, it has been claimed that Liverpool have included a clause that could see them beat Chelsea to Caicedo.

According to The Athletic journalist Andy Naylor, Liverpool have included a substantial sell-on clause in their offer for Caicedo.

Chelsea are yet to return with an improved bid and there has been no confirmation on whether Brighton are willing to entertain new bids.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Chelsea on Sunday, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said: “I got told I can confirm that the deal with the club is agreed. Whatever that means exactly in the end we will see.

“What did change is we are a club who doesn't have endless resources, so we didn't expect a couple of things to happen in the summer - Hendo, Fab, stuff like this - we didn't think about that before the summer to be honest, and when it happened we gave it a go (to sign Caicedo).”

He added: “Obviously the club was really stretched (financially) to be honest. we will see in the end. Let's see what happens in the next hours and days, we go from there.”

Chelsea have reportedly pulled out of the deal to sign Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams, with many feeling the Stamford Bridge club could use the funds for Adams in their new bid for Caicedo.
