Franck Ribery has just three games left of his Bayern Munich career before he leaves the club for a new challenge and with the Frenchman not retiring he's revealed he could move to Australia.

It really is the end of an era for Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions now look likely to win the German title again, unless they mess up in one of their remaining two games in the league, but things will change before next season.

For much of this season change looked necessary with the team trailing Borussia Dortmund by quite some way in the title race but they now sit at the top of the table.

However the average age of the squad is likely to be brought down, and the quality brought up, with a summer spending spree expected at the Allianz Arena.

The two main protagonists expecting to leave the club are Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, with the wingers aged 36 and 35 respectively.

Despite being in his mid 30s Ribery wants to continue to play football and he wants to do it for enjoyment rather than money. Opening up the prospect of joining fellow countryman Markus Babbel in Australia, where Babbel manages Western Sydney Wanderers, Ribery said:

"You know that I played football because of the fun and to enjoy it. I love football.

"If you play well, then you make yourself a great name and the money comes on its own. You earn money for what you did. I do not just play for money.

"But why should I not move to colleague Babbel? I do not know. There are many options. I'm not sure yet where I'm going."

That comes after the former Liverpool defender admitted he's had contact with the former Marseille winger, saying, "Franck Ribery, of course, I was in touch with him.

"I said "OK, if you want earn a lot of money then you have to go to Qatar or something, but if you want to be a rock star, then you have to come to Australia."

Ribery wouldn't be the first high profile player to move to the A-League with Emile Heskey and Alessandro del Piero amongst the European players to have moved to Oceania late in their careers.

Will Ribery move to the other side of the world to finish his career playing for his friend?
