Leonardo Bonucci will take some replacing for Juventus.
Today, ambitious AC Milan, officially announced the shock signing of Bonucci, easily in the top three defenders in world football, in what is quite possibly the best signing of the summer so far.
The former Inter centre-back is the sort of the addition that could well and truly to the Rossoneri into title contenders after a period of being lurched into mediocrity.
And it's a heavy blow for Juventus as they are losing a player who has been integral to their recent successes in reaching two Champions League finals in three seasons, as well as winning six consecutive Serie A titles in an utterly dominant reign in Italy's top flight.
As good as centre-backs Giorgio Chiellini, Daniele Rugani, Mehdi Benatia and Andrea Barzagli are, the void left by Bonucci is still monumental and one would expect the Bianconeri to try and sign a new central defender this summer.
According to Italian outlet TMW, Juventus have identified Bayern Munich centre-back Mats Hummels as a potential replacement for Bonucci.
The German centre-back only moved to the Allianz Arena from Borussia Dortmund last summer and went on to make 27 appearances as the Bavarians claimed yet another Bundesliga title.
But Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez would appear to be Carlo Ancelotti's first-choice defensive partnership, casting doubt on his future at the club.

Juventus have good relations in doing business with Bayern in recent seasons, with the likes of Arturo Vidal, Mehdi Benatia, Kingsley Coman and most recently Douglas Costa involved in deals between the two European giants.
And they hope that relationship will put them in a good position to move for Hummels, who will reportedly hold talks with Bayern's hierarchy next week.
