Renato Sanches Set For Incredible Move To Swansea City

Renato Sanches Set For Incredible Move To Swansea City

Well it's been an interesting transfer window but this is certainly one of the best moves that there's been, well played Swansea.

As far as transfers go there's the occasional eyebrow raiser in amongst those that you expect to happen. Renato Sanches going to Swansea City is definitely in the former group!

Oh sure when Neymar to PSG was first talked about no one expected it to happen but by the time he actually signed we'd heard, and written, about it for weeks.

No other transfer this summer has really taken us by surprise in the way that Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez's moves to West Ham did back in the summer of 2006.

I've still no idea how this happened and then Pardew preferred Hayden Mullins to Mascherano in central midfield. Image: PA

That morning I woke up to a message from a friend telling me to turn on Sky Sports so naturally I did, like I wasn't going to anyways, only be met by a transfer I certainly did not see coming.

As an avid Football Manager player I figured the pair of them were set for better teams than West Ham, and I wasn't wrong, but that morning they were destined for Upton Park.

On a similar theme one of the world's best prospects going to Swansea City wasn't what we were expecting but according to Gianluca di Marzio that's what is set to happen with Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches.

Sanches has only been at the Allianz Arena for one year but he's looking to move on. Image: PA

According to the Italian transfer guru the Portuguese midfielder is set to join the Swans on loan for a five million euro fee with an option to buy for 30 million euros next year.

The 20 year old had been linked with AC Milan recently but looks very much to be on his way to the Premier League and Wales instead.

Paul Clement has pulled off quite the coup. Image: PA

The deal is likely to be because of Paul Clement's connection with Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti who the Englishman was an assistant manager for at PSG and Real Madrid before the Bundesliga side.

Before his move from Benfica this time last year Sanches had been closely followed by Manchester United but it'll be at the Principality Stadium not Old Trafford where he'll play.

Is this the best move of the summer?
