Swansea Eyeing Up Louis Van Gaal For Paul Clement's Replacement

Paul Clement became the latest manager to lose the sack race in the Premier League last night and to add insult to injury to the Englishman his former club are eyeing up Louis van Gaal as a possible replacement.

Swansea have not been very good ever since they decided that they'd pack in their succession plans when it came to managers, that saw them climb up the leagues to the Premier League, and get Francesco Guidolin in as manager.

Since the Italian walked into the Liberty Stadium things have been going pretty badly and Bob Bradley's appointment was no better than his Italian predecessor. Paul Clement kept them in the division last season but was sacked last night with the club bottom of the league.

Clubs who are bottom at Christmas don't tend to stay up and the club hierarchy are presumably hoping to get a new man in during the transfer window so he can get the players he wants.

And according to the Mirror today the man that they want to take the reigns is former Champions League winner Louis van Gaal.

Van Gaal has been out of management since May 2016 when he was sacked pretty much as soon as his Manchester United team had beaten Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.

And earlier this week the Dutchman revealed that only the chance of revenge would entice him back into management saying, "I said I will probably not manage a club any more. I would make one exception. If a big English club comes for me, I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over Manchester United."

If the former Ajax manager really wants to take down the Red Devils then he'd have to wait for March 31st or hope for some luck in future FA Cup draws.

The Mail also think that the Swans are interested in two more Dutch managers in former Everton boss Ronald Koeman and former Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer who have both been sacked this season.
