Atletico Madrid ultras also displayed a banner aimed at their rivals.

A shocking video of a mannequin wearing a Vinicius Junior Real Madrid shirt hanging from a bridge has emerged online.

Real face their fierce cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

It will be their second meeting of the season following the controversial clash at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium earlier in the campaign.

Vinicius Jr was subjected to disgraceful racist abuse before and during the La Liga clash last September.

Fans were filmed chanting 'Vinicius is a monkey' ahead of the game. Supporters also held up a racist doll clothed in a Real shirt, in a reference to the Brazil international.

The abuse continued inside the ground, with home supporters taking aim the star forward during the match.

Atleti ultras have continued to target Vinicius Jr ahead of tonight's Madrid derby.

They have unfurled a banner which reads 'Madrid hates Real' and inexplicably hung a mannequin wearing a Vinicius Jr shirt.

The acts of hate against the 22-year-old has bared no impact on his on-field performances as he's on course to enjoy another prolific campaign following a sensational term last season.

He netted 22 goals in all competitions last season and has 11 goals to his name this time around.

Vinicius Jr has become a vital player for Carlo Ancelotti, who wants more respect from referees for his star man.

"I told [Vinicius] to play his game," the veteran Italian boss said following his side's win over Athletic Bilbao last weekend.

"He's a great player first of all. But he's very sensitive... everyone pushes him.

"Opponents kick him, opposition fans, sometimes referees. Today he got a yellow card, but he got kicked a lot.

"We have to remember he's very young and he's under pressure from everyone. Sometimes maybe he loses his focus, but he's very young. I love him. We want him to be respected by everyone a bit more."
