Rio Ferdinand Savagely Responds To Roy Keane And Jamie Carragher's Cristiano Ronaldo Debate, Liverpool Legend Hits Back

Rio Ferdinand Savagely Responds To Roy Keane And Jamie Carragher's Cristiano Ronaldo Debate, Liverpool Legend Hits Back

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand slammed Jamie Carragher, but the Sky Sports pundit hit back in brutal fashion on Twitter.

Rio Ferdinand and Jamie Carragher traded verbal blows in a heated spat after the Liverpool legend locked horns with Roy Keane over Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United caretaker manager Michael Carrick made the bold decision to bench Ronaldo for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Keane exchanged a war of words with Carragher over Ronaldo being dropped, with ex-Chelsea star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink stuck in the middle of their fiery debate.

Carragher previously trolled Ferdinand over his famous “Ole’s at the wheel” comments by claiming “Carrick’s at the wheel” after United’s 2-0 win over Villarreal in the Champions League.

The Sky Sports pundit tweeted last week: “Man Utd might not thank me, but get the contract out put it on the table & let him sign it, let him right whatever numbers he wants, let him sign the contract. Carrick’s at the wheel man! [sic]”

Ferdinand has now launched a scathing attack on Carragher and claimed his former England teammate should not be discussing winning Premier League titles.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, he said: “Carragher shouldn’t really be talking about winning leagues. He’s never done it. He don’t know what it means. He don’t know how to do it.

“He’s never navigated a team through it to that point to win a league. So, I find it very difficult when he speaks with such convictions about winning leagues.

“You should stick to cup competitions [and] the moment he talks about leagues, I just mute it.”

Carragher hit back at Ferdinand in vicious fashion by claiming he wouldn’t have won a single trophy in his club career without United icon Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 43-year-old ex-Liverpool star went on to accuse United legend Ferdinand of trying to move to Chelsea after he “stopped winning” Premier League titles at Old Trafford.

“Not talking titles but the deal for Ronaldo to Man Utd which you arranged,” Carragher responded.

“No PL for me but Sky like my opinions! No [trophies] in your career without AF [Sir Alex Ferguson] & when you stopped winning PL at MU you tried to move to Chelsea so please stop giving it the big MU fan one!”

Jadon Sancho fired United into a shock lead in the second half against Chelsea, but Jorginho pulled back an equaliser from the spot-kick as the points were shared between the two sides.

Ronaldo came off the bench and replaced Sancho for a second-half cameo, with the United legend later storming down the tunnel at the full-time whistle.
