There's something about Wilfried Bony returning to Swansea City yesterday that just felt right. The Ivorian's new number on the other hand just feels completely wrong.
When Wilfried Bony first joined the Premier League with Swansea in 2013 he was an instant hit. That's why the drop off in form since he left for Manchester and then Stoke has been a shame.
Yesterday the 28 year old returned to the south of Wales after three seasons in which he bagged just eight Premier League goals in three seasons and he was clearly happy to be back, singing his own song at his unveiling:
And it was a pretty good deadline day for the Swans as they also picked up Renato Sanches. The midfielder had a mare with his squad number as the Premier League refused to allow him the number 85.
However that wasn't the only shirt number aberration as Bony decided against picking the number nine shirt, that was available, instead choosing the number two shirt left vacant by Jordi Amat.

Come on Wilf, you can't be wearing a full-backs number when the most famous of striker's numbers is available. There's not many better examples of a number nine than Bony.
However the former Sparta Prague striker explained why he picked the number. Speaking to the club website he said, "It's a special number for me, It's the second time I am at the club, hence I wanted to wear number two, and I want to achieve more for the team."
As well as gaining a well liked striker Paul Clement's side also lost one as Fernando Llorente headed to Spurs, but not before sending his thanks to his now former club:
The Spaniard had been followed by Chelsea all summer but Mauricio Pochettino's club swooped in for him late in the day to steal him from under the Blues noses.
We just hope that Llorente doesn't pick as stupid a number as Bony!
