When A 9-Year-Old Adama Traore Outsmarted Andres Iniesta In Training As Xavi Watched On

Brilliant.

Footage has emerged of Adama Traore's first encounter with Barcelona legend Xavi during his time in La Masia.

The pacey winger secured a loan move to his former club on transfer deadline day. He will join until the end of the season, with Barca having an option to turn his deal into a permanent one for £25 million.

Traore, who has spent four years at Wolves, is believed to have taken a 'significant' pay cut to join up with Xavi at the Camp Nou - and it sounds like he's delighted to return.

In an interview with BarçaTV+, he said: “I’m very happy to be back at Barça, where I grew up. This is a special moment for me.

"I had a conversation with Xavi, I know what he wants from me. I talked to him before signing. I’ll give my 100%."

Traore's decision to join the Catalan giants comes six years after leaving the club to join Premier League side Aston Villa.

In fact, the Spain international spent 11 years with Barca, where he progressed through La Masia and into the first-team.

And in 2005, when he was just nine-years-old, Traore featured in a TV show called Class of Barca.

The youngster was given the unique opportunity to learn from Andres Iniesta and Xavi, who were 21 and 25 at the time. Those involved were taught the principles of Blaugrana's style of play and more.

As you can see in the above clip, Traore's talent is clear. In one drill, the confident youngster backs into Iniesta with his body before turning and running away to goal.

Barcelona's official Twitter account posted footage of the training session with the caption: "Destiny".

Thoughts on Traore's move to Barca? Will he be a big success at the Camp Nou?
