Willian could make sensational Premier League return with a third London club

Willian could make sensational Premier League return with a third London club

Willian failed to impress at Arsenal after seven successful years at Chelsea.

Former Brazil international Willian has been linked with a return to the Premier League and Fulham are interested.

The winger first moved to the Premier League in 2013 and enjoyed seven successful years at Chelsea, winning two Premier League titles, the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Europa League.

He would depart for Arsenal in 2020 and a disastrous season saw the Gunners cancel his contract in 2021.

Willian joined boyhood side Corinthians last August but he's struggled with injury, scoring just one goal in 44 games.

A report from Goal claims newly-promoted Fulham are negotiating a transfer and Willian has a release clause which lets him return to Europe.

The 33-year-old has 16 months remaining on his Corinthians deal and another spell in London could appeal to him and his family.

Fulham won the Championship last season and have made five signings so far.

Marco Silva has added Manor Solomon, Andreas Pereira, Joao Palhinha, Kevin Mbabu and goalkeeper Bernd Leno to his squad.

They've lost teenage sensation Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool however and he played a key role in the last campaign.

Fulham face Jurgen Klopp's side on Saturday afternoon and Silva admitted earlier this week that his side are not prepared.

He told reporters in a press conference: "These players, they are ready for the Premier League.

"The players that we have right now, I congratulate them for the work they have been doing. I’m always behind them, they did fantastic last season.

"We, as a squad, we are not ready. These players, they are ready.

"I have to tell you, and I don’t want to speak for too much time about the situation, I want to be clear with you; now we have 16 senior players in our squad. No one competes at this level with 16 senior players in your squad.

"I will tell you one more. No one can prepare for one season with just two central defenders. We have two central defenders at this level."

Fulham were last in the Premier League in 20/21 after winning the play-offs and they went straight back down.
