David Beckham has reportedly left World Cup organisers angered by what he has offered in his role as an ambassador.
Prior to the tournament, the former England captain agreed a big money deal to become one of the faces of the country for the World Cup.
Since he agreed to become an ambassador, Beckham has faced criticism due to Qatar’s poor human rights record. The likes of Gianni Infantino, Gary Neville and some Qatari officials have all faced questions about the hosts.
According to The New York Times, the organisers are ‘exasperated’ over Beckham’s reluctance to answer questions on the issues surrounding Qatar’s human rights record.

In addition, Qatari chiefs were also believed to be unimpressed by Beckham’s decision to speak to former Manchester United teammate Neville whilst filming a documentary about the World Cup, which addresses subjects such as the nation’s human rights record.
During his conversation with Neville, Beckham shied away from speaking about any controversial topics.
Beckham has also left some fellow ambassadors ‘riled up’ after some former players felt the ex-England man was being given special treatment.
Former Spain and Brazil legends Xavi and Cafu are two of many former players hired by Qatar to promote the tournament and the country.
Beckham’s publicist did respond to TNYT: “David has been involved in a number of World Cups and other major international tournaments both as a player and an ambassador and he has always believed that sport has the power to be a force for good in the world," the brief statement read.

“We understand that there are different and strongly held views about engagement in the Middle East but see it as positive that debate about the key issues has been stimulated directly by the first World Cup being held in the region. We hope that these conversations will lead to greater understanding and empathy toward all people and that progress will be achieved.”
The Qatar World Cup will draw to a close after the final between Argentina and France on Sunday.
