World Cup stadium has incredible feature for VIP fans

World Cup stadium has incredible feature for VIP fans

Fans sitting in the posh seats in one stadium in Qatar have a very easy route to their seats, saving them a lot of walking and queueing time

Fans at the World Cup in Qatar have had some issues with getting into stadiums, but VIPs at one ground are able to skip hours of queuing.

It's a strange World Cup for many reasons, not least the fact that it ends about a week before Christmas kicks off, rather than the summer.

Another reason is the proximity of all the grounds, with fans often being able to visit more than one game in a day if they have the opportunity.

However, there has been some problems with fans getting to grounds, with transport and the need to queue to get in delaying them somewhat.

Al Bayt Stadium is one of the harder grounds to get to, being 35km north of Doha and not that close to any of the train stations.

Fans have to walk around 20 minutes to the ground, even if they take a bus or Uber to the matches there, with the road networks the only way to get there.

The stadium, which played host to the opening game between Qatar and Ecuador, and will also host England's last 16 game with Senegal, hosts 60,000 people.

However, not all of them have to take the long walk into the ground, with VIPs allowed to drive right up to it and to their seats, as per the Daily Mail.

The ramp outside the stadium goes up several levels of the ground and can be accessed for the VIP fans, right up towards where they'll be for the game.

England progressed through the group stage to set up their game with Senegal on Tuesday night, when they defeated Wales in the final game of the group.

Having drawn 0-0 with USA, fans were calling for Gareth Southgate's side to take the handbrake off against a side who lost to Iran.

Wales needed to win and hope that USA and Iran drew, or they'd have to defeat their neighbours 4-0, if there was a winner in the other game.

Southgate made attacking changes with Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford both starting in attack, either side of Harry Kane.

Mason Mount was dropped, along with Raheem Sterling and Bukayo Saka, with Jordan Henderson starting, and Kyle Walker came in for Kieran Trippier in defence.

The changes up front certainly made a huge improvement for the Three Lions, even if it did take them till the second half to get going.

Rashford kicked off the scoring with a brilliant free kick goal, with Foden grabbing the second, after Harry Kane's cross across the box.

Manchester United star Rashford scored his third of the tournament to round off scoring, after England made a bunch of changes, with Danny Ward making a mess of his shot.

Senegal progressed earlier in the day, as they beat Ecuador to finish ahead of the South Americans, as runners of Group A.
