Paul Mullin starred for Wrexham as they sealed promotion to League Two

Wrexham striker Paul Mullin stole the show as he appeared on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM on Saturday.

Mullin has been one of the standout players during Wrexham’s stunning 22/23 season.

The Welsh club, backed by their Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, managed to secure their return to League Two after winning the National League.

In 46 appearances in the league, Mullin netted 36 goals and provided three assists.

After returning from their celebratory trip to Las Vega, Mullin delighted fans as he appeared on Soccer AM.

During the challenge to win fans money, the 28-year-old scored a stunning free-kick that arrowed into the top corner.

After that, he managed to dispatch his penalty to double the cash pot from £500 to £1000, sparking wild scenes as the fans jumped on his back to celebrate.

Fans were quick to react on social media.

One said: “Seeing Paul Mullin on Soccer AM has confirmed he’s the best forward in the country.”

Another tweeted: “Paul Mullin absolutely tearing up the John Arne Riise!”

A third fan added: “Paul Mullin is RIDICULOUS.”

Someone else wrote: “Best striker in football super Paul Mullin.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Super Paul Mullin on Soccer AM came across very well, love that bloke I do.”

After clinching the title, Mullin said: “Us as players and staff have performed to give them (fans) what they've wanted for 15 years (promotion to the Football League). I'm over the moon for the people of the town, they've taken to me like I was born here. I love it here.

“I love them (the fans). I couldn't thank them enough and to repay them tonight with this (promotion) is unbelievable. I'm looking forward to a season in League Two now.”
