Martin Brundle's Hilarious F1 Grid Walk Interview With Ozzy Osbourne Resurfaces After Miami GP Fiasco

Martin Brundle's Hilarious F1 Grid Walk Interview With Ozzy Osbourne Resurfaces After Miami GP Fiasco

Brundle has named the bizarre interaction as his favourite interview.

Formula One legend Martin Brundle was left red-faced at the weekend after his hilarious grid walk at the Miami Grand Prix went viral on social media.

Brundle appeared to be ignored by Venus Williams, was left mystified by a speech by DJ Khaled and managed to confuse NBA draftee Paolo Banchero with NFL star Patrick Mahomes during an absolutely chaotic walkabout on the grid ahead of the race.

It was pure entertainment from the former Williams and McLaren driver, who has now been performing grid walk duties in Formula One for a quarter of a century.

Footage of another bizarre pre-race interview involving Brundle has resurfaced on social media in the wake of the Miami GP fiasco.

In the clip, which you can watch below, Brundle attempts to interview former Black Sabbath front man Ozzy Osbourne ahead of the Montreal GP in 2003.

After Brundle asks him about his wife Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy responds with a largely unintelligible answer in which he references a 'Rasputin musical' and defecating dogs.

Brundle has since named the awkward interaction as his favourite pre-race interview with a celebrity.

"He wasn’t fully with it, shall we say. I asked him a question and he gave me a very long, incomprehensible answer," said Brundle.

"I said to him 'I'll try and think of a question to that, but in the meantime how are the dogs?' And he said 'they are at home s****** on the carpets'.

"It went out live to millions of people and I got in trouble because I was supposed to have known he would swear if I asked that question."

While he may have named Osbourne as his favourite pre-race interview, Brundle has admitted he isn't a huge fan of the grid walk.

"There's a reason why I’ve never watched back an F1 grid walk in a quarter of a century of doing them," Brundle tweeted after the Miami Grand Prix.

"You have no idea how much I dislike doing them but somehow those crazy moments have defined my professional career.

"Oh well, that's the way it is."
