Sergio Perez accused of cheating on his wife in deleted post by Max Verstappen's mum

Max Verstappen's mum appeared to accuse his Red Bull Racing teammate Sergio Perez of cheating on his wife, before deleting the social media post.

It should be all smiles and champagne in the Red Bull paddock at the end of the Formula One season, after their triumphant campaign on the track.

Verstappen wrapped up his second drivers' world title in-a-row at the beginning of October, at the Japanese Grand Prix, which surprised everyone who thought he still needed another point.

A couple of week's later they won their first constructors' title since 2013, when Verstappen won the US Grand Prix in Austin.

However, at the weekend, things were far from celebratory at the Brazilian Grand Prix, after Verstappen's spat with teammate Perez.

With both titles won, Perez's battle, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, to finish second in the drivers' championship was the only thing on the docket for Red Bull's list of priorities.

The Dutch world champ was ahead of his teammate coming into the final lap of the race, with the team getting on the radio to tell the 25-year-old to move over and let the Mexican through.

Perez later criticised Verstappen in his own radio message and that doesn't seem to have gone down well with the former Toro Rosso driver's mother.

Replying to a social media post that criticised her son for the incident, in a now deleted post, Sophie Kumpen accused Perez of cheating on his wife.

The post may well refer to a story from earlier this season following the Monaco Grand Prix, where Perez picked up his first win of the season.

During the party after the race, the 32-year-old was recorded dancing with a couple of women, getting extremely close with one on the clips.

He was left having to put out an apology to wife Carola Martinez, saying, "People close to me know my values and the type of person that I am. For those who ask me, we are more united than ever, me and my wife.

"And for those who just want to hurt us, I wish you the best.

"Thank you all for your love and I apologise to all the people who love me because those videos don't represent me not at all."

The famous Monaco race is where all the issues around Brazil seem to have started for the two Red Bull Drivers, and Verstappen's decision not to let his teammate overtake.

When the Dutch driver refused to move over he was asked, "What happened there?" responding, "I told you already last time you guys, don’t ask that again to me. Okay? Are we clear about that? I gave my reasons and I stand by it."

According to reports, the 'reasons' for Verstappen refusing to move over go back to Monaco, when Perez secured pole position.

Having put the fastest time on the board, the former McLaren driver then crashed, stopping his teammate from getting the chance to beat him to quickest time.

After the incident last weekend, Perez replied on the radio, saying, "Yeah, this shows who he really is."

They go into the final race at Abu Dhabi this weekend with Perez level on points with Leclerc but behind him due to the amount of races won.

We have messaged Perez's representatives for a comment but they have not commented as yet.
