Conor McGregor Sends Extremely Worrying Threat To Neymar On Instagram, Completely Unprovoked

Conor McGregor Sends Extremely Worrying Threat To Neymar On Instagram, Completely Unprovoked

Nobody was expecting this.

Conor McGregor has claimed he'd 'smoke' Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar in one of the strangest Instagram callouts in recent memory.

The Notorious is currently recovering from a broken leg he suffered in defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in July.

He's got his eyes on lightweight gold when he makes his return later this year and is desperate to fight current champion Charles Oliveira.

Now, it looks like he wants to settle a score with Neymar after he posed with fellow Brazilian Oliveira for a picture.

McGregor posted the photo on his story and captioned it: "Smoke the two of these."

The 33-year-old is a former lightweight champion having beating Eddie Alvarez for the belt in 2016.

He's never successfully defended a title in the UFC however and he's hoping to fix that in the next few years.

That's despite his poor record in the Octagon, with his only win in the last four years coming in 2020.

McGregor was soundly defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 before sleeping Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

The Irishman would then lose to Dustin Poirier twice in 2021.

Poirier earned a shot at Oliveira in December but tapped out in round three.

Oliveira is happy for McGregor to be his next challenger and even has a date in mind already.

He told Sherdog: "May would be a wonderful date. Conor challenged me asking a date, and tweeted Ireland vs Brazil 2.

"Not only him, but also myself and all the world wants to see that fight. So let's make it happen.

"I'm waiting for him in May. It may be in welterweight, lightweight or middleweight, with my title on the line or not. Just choose and I'll be ready."

McGregor is no stranger to riling up a Brazilian crowd.

His fight with Jose Aldo in 2015 saw McGregor play the villain in a number of press conferences as he mentally chipped away at Aldo.

McGregor knocked his opponent out in 13 seconds to be crowned featherweight champion.

Do you think Conor McGregor deserves a shot at a UFC title when he returns from injury?
