Joe Rogan wants Conor McGregor to take Bare Knuckle fight that would do at least a million buy

Joe Rogan wants Conor McGregor to take Bare Knuckle fight that would do at least a million buy

McGregor might not be able to fight Michael Chandler this year and Rogan wants to see him fight outside of UFC.

Conor McGregor has been told to take a fight outside of the UFC by commentator Joe Rogan, who believes it would do 'at least' a million buys on pay-per-view.

It's been two years since we saw McGregor step inside the octagon for a fight, breaking his leg and losing a second straight defeat to Dustin Poirier.

Since then there's been plenty of call outs by the Irishman and suggested comebacks but the closest he's come to a fight has been with the Miami Heat's mascot.

Of course he's expected to face Michael Chandler in the near future, with the two UFC stars currently taking part in the latest Ultimate Fighter series.

When that fight actually happens is anyone's guess considering the former two weight UFC champion is yet to re-enter the testing pool for USADA.

That means that he won't be fighting Chandler this year as the final PPV of the year for Dana White's promotion will be December 16th, meaning it's earlier than the six month fighters have to be tested for.

Now Rogan has come out and suggested that the 34-year-old be allowed to jump promotions by White so he can take on Mike Perry.

The former UFC star now fights on Bare Knuckle FC and recently got up close and personal with McGregor following a win, leading to intrigue about a fight.

"If he [McGregor] decided to do that, if somehow or another they [UFC] gave him the green light to do that, I can’t imagine how that could ever happen, but if it did, if that happened in a bare knuckle fight, that would be f****** bananas," the UFC commentator said on his 'Joe Rogan Experience' podcast.

"He’s a very good kicker, he can do everything, but if somehow or another he agreed to fight bare-knuckle... how big that would be? My Lord... that would be wild.

"If they did that in bare-knuckle, it would get a million pay-per-view buys at least, probably more."

Of course McGregor is used to far bigger buyrates than would be likely against Perry, having been involved in one of the biggest fights of all time.

His boxing match up with Floyd Mayweather was bought by a reported 4.6 million people and he also holds the top three places for UFC.

The end of his feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov was bought by 2.4 million and the two fights with Poirier in 2021 had a combined 3.1 million viewers.
