Conor McGregor Details Exactly Why Khabib Was 'Good But Not Great' In Damning Overnight Analysis

Conor McGregor unloaded on fierce rival Khabib Nurmagomedov during an intense Twitter debate last night - calling him 'good but not great.'

The Irishman started his bitter feud with Nurmagomedov back in 2018 and despite their fight happening in 2018, there's still no love lost.

McGregor is currently out of action with a broken leg and decided to take aim at Nurmagomedov, who retired last year at the age of 32.

He believes 'The Eagle's' choice to step away at a young age means his career can't be considered legendary.

McGregor stressed in a series of deleted tweets: "He was a good fighter for those few weeks alright lol. Retiring takes you from all lists though. He retired and at the same time cried to be placed on one.

"It debunks your few tweets saying he is not about that.

"He should have just kept quiet about Aldo. He is a fool now."

When asked about his opinion, the 33-year-old replied: "Yes, good, not great."

Nurmagomedov was known as a submission specialist and his record of 29-0 only brought eight knockout wins - with just two in the UFC.

McGregor continued: "Low KO rate.

"Can’t kick whatsoever. Never moved up in weight class despite almost dying trying to make weight. Pulled out of fights multiple times. Retired early.

"All of which lead him to a good fighter, not great. He’d a good few months, that’s it."

Nurmagomedov last defeated Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020 and stepped away from the Octagon following the death of his father, Abdulmanap.

Other notable defences of his lightweight crown came against McGregor and Poirier respectively.

McGregor is scheduled to make a return in 2022 and he's desperate to get back in the win column, having won just one fight in the last five years.

He's also got his eyes on claiming championship gold once again, believing he has all the tools to become lightweight champion once again.
