Conor McGregor wants to fight Nate Diaz in Dana White's new Power Slap League

Conor McGregor wants to fight Nate Diaz in Dana White's new Power Slap League

The Irishman is keen on finishing his trilogy with Diaz in the newly formed league.

Conor McGregor is keen on making his feud with Nate Diaz a trilogy of fights - with the third taking place in Dana White’s Power Slap League.

The Irishman is certainly a fan of the new sporting series that is being set up by MMA honcho Dana White.

The UFC boss gained approval from the Nevada State Athletic Commission to set up the league which is set to make its television debut in January.

The league will essentially see men and women taking turns slapping each other as hard as possible to knock them out.

And McGregor is coming around to the sport.

He tweeted: “This power slap championship is growing on me. Who doesn’t like watching good quality clatters hahaha.”

The UFC star later wanted clarification on the rules, probably just like the rest of us.

He continued: “Is it a flip of a coin who gets to go first? How long do they have to recover before they get to throw their counter? Or is it over if they’re ko’d? Fascinating. I’m attending one of these 100 per cent. Is this Dana’s? Wtf is this madness Dana hahaha. I’m in.”

Getting the Notorious one on the card for one of these broadcasts would certainly be one way to drum up interest in the league.

And McGregor knew exactly who he should square off against.

He added: “Me Vs Nate on it for the title hahahaha maybe that’s a title you’d have a better chance of coming close to winning Nate you little slapper hahahaha.”

The pair squared off in two of the most memorable fights in UFC history back in 2016.

Both fighters chalked up a win, so a game of slaps would certainly be one way to settle the score.

Although, Nate Diaz claims he’s already won a clash of slaps when they were in the Octagon.

He responded to McGregor’s tweet, saying: “I already beat you at that game too.”

The tweet was accompanied by a video of the American landing a wicked right slap square on McGregor’s jaw.

Diaz added: “If submissions weren’t allowed. I knocked you out way fast than Floyd did.”
