'Makes Sense' - Dana White Teases Monster UFC Bout For Jon Jones' Summer Return

Dana White says he's hoping to have Jon Jones back in the UFC this summer, teasing a monster bout ahead of his anticipated Octagon return.

Jones hasn't fought in the UFC since February 2020 when he beat Dominick Reyes.

He's since vacated his UFC light-heavyweight title and moved up to the heavyweight division.

And the UFC president expects 'Bones' to return to action in the summer, revealing a fight against Stipe Miocic 'makes sense'.

Asked about this year's UFC International Fight Week card in July, White told TMZ Sports: "Listen, people have been talking about how awesome this card is, and I was just telling somebody the other day our lineup for this summer is incredible."

On Jones, he added: "I'm hoping that Jon Jones is gonna be a part of that lineup this summer.

"Yeah, Stipe makes sense."

Miocic hasn't fought since losing the UFC heavyweight title to Francis Ngannou last year.

But the 39-year-old appears set to welcome Jones back to the UFC in a blockbuster summer clash.

UFC legend Henry Cejudo has backed Jones to meet Miocic later this year.

"That's the fight that's going to happen," he said. "That's where we are going to be able to really see the creativity of Jon. If we really think about... I don't see Stipe with crazy knockout power. I think Stipe's greatest gift is his endurance.

"Jon Jones, he needed this time off to get his mind right, to let his body recovery and enjoy his family. He needed all this, I wouldn't be mad if he takes another year off because he's accomplished so much.

"He got to a point where he was so good that people started to adapt to him."
