Jake Paul Ready To Train MMA For Six Months To Put Conor McGregor Into Retirement

Jake Paul Ready To Train MMA For Six Months To Put Conor McGregor Into Retirement

The YouTuber turned boxer reckons he has what it takes to finish the Irishman in the octagon.

YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul is once again doing all he can to get his prizefight with Conor McGregor.

Paul is now upping the ante as he attempts to goad McGregor into the ring, this time saying he will train in MMA for six months in order to get his fight.

However, in typical Paul fashion, he warned the Irishman he would send him into retirement should they meet in the UFC octagon.

In an interview with The Sun, Paul said while he’s confident in getting a win, he wouldn’t be taking the fight lightly.

He said: “Who said I’m not worried? He’s been at it for 15 years. But I know I have a great chance given I’m rising and he’s declining.

“I will spend six months, morning, day and night training with the best MMA coaches in the world and put myself in a position to win.

"I’m just built different.”

The YouTube star has made some noise in the MMA world already, after boxing and defeating fighters Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, before also calling out UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal.

Paul has also been at odds with Dana White in the past and called him out for not paying his UFC fighters enough per fight.

He also insisted he would donate his entire purse from the potential McGregor fight to UFC stars who make less than AU$67,500 (US$50,000) per fight.

Despite never competing in MMA, Paul is adamant he would leave victorious.

He said: “If you took a poll on us boxing, I bet the vast majority would have me beating him. And if you took a poll on us in a MMA fight, fans will say Conor is winning that.

“So of course, it would be sweeter to knock out his veneers in MMA.”

The 5-0 boxer has been attempting to provoke Conor into a boxing match since he made his transition from YouTube to the fight scene.

McGregor has only boxed professionally once, losing to legend Floyd Mayweather back in 2017.

Continuing to attempt to build the fight, Paul kept his verbal attack on McGregor going.

He said: “I relish finally having an opponent that has the same mental-warfare intelligence that I do.

“So let’s start now: Conor you have been selfish your whole life.

"Selfish to your family with your antics, selfish to your career with your partying and most of all a selfish fighter who has never tried to uplift his fellow fighters.

“You’re a rich little weirdo who poses, thinks cool watches and suits will make people like you.

“This is your chance to do for others. Accept my proposal and let’s do something that is bigger than us. I’m ready.”

The build-up and trash talk alone would be enough to make this fight worth it.
