Jon Jones earned a massive, seven-figure purse for his UFC 285 bout

Jon Jones pocketed a big purse for his UFC return.

Jon Jones reportedly earned a whopping, seven-figure purse for his UFC return bout against Ciryl Gane.

'Bones' beat Gane in the main-event of UFC 285 to capture the UFC heavyweight title on Saturday.

He submitted the Frenchman in the very first round in what was his first Octagon outing since February 2020.

His dominant appearance lasted just over two minutes as the 35-year-old easily dispatched the former UFC title challenger.

And his stunning showing saw him bag $7.19 million, according to Total Sportal.

The report claims Jones had a base purse of $3 million and a 'bonus' of $4 million. He also pocked a $100,000 win bonus and a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

UFC president Dana White hailed Jones' outstanding performance, saying he 'treated' Gane like he was a 'little kid'.

"Even if you look at him [Jones] tonight, he’s had three years to put on the weight. A lot of people were saying I don’t know he looks soft, what if this, that, and blah blah blah," he said during his post-fight press conference.

"Ciryl Gane is a monster. [He’s] in great physical shape and everything else - Jon Jones went in there and just treated him like he was a little kid. So, I think he is the level. I don’t know if there is any other level higher than Jon Jones."

The legendary American fighter appears set to return to action in July, with White claiming he'll fight former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

"I don’t know when, but he’s definitely fighting Stipe," he told reporters.

"He wants to fight Stipe so we’ll make the Stipe fight. And whatever he wants to do after that, we’ll be lucky if we get to see him again. Or maybe he doesn’t, maybe he retires after that. I don’t know."
