UFC legend Jorge Masvidal has announced his retirement after suffering a loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287.
The energy was electric inside Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida for Jorge Masvidal.
It was a cagey start from both fighters with neither wanting to commit too heavily with their strikes.

The hometown boy landed a few combos on the Brazilian to the delight of the crowd, but Burns returned with a few right-handed shots of his own.
Burns caught the 38-year-old with a takedown late in the first to presumably secure the round.
Durinho came out firing in the second landing a right-handed shot earlier and a brutal takedown almost dropping Masvidal on his head.

The South American maintained grapple control for much of the second round, however, Masvidal defended much of his opponent’s strike and attempted transitions.
Masvidal seemed to fight his way back into the bout in the third round landing a few strikes but Burns shut that down quite quickly.
The Brazilian landed some heavy shots on his opponent with Masvidal looking drained and out on his feet.
The boxer managed to stay on his feet despite suffering a serious amount of significant head strikes.

The victory was all but secured for Burns when he managed to takedown Masvidal yet again late into the final round.
The fight went the distance with the result coming down to the judges’ decision.
The decision makers scored it unanimously in favour of the Brazilian.
Masvidal spoke to Joe Rogan following the fight in which he made his future intentions career.
He said: “I didn't have s**t when I started. I can say I'm good for life now.”
