Nate Diaz SLAPS Reporter Backstage At UFC 276 After Being Angered By His Tweets

Diaz clashed with the reporter before the event in Las Vegas.

Nate Diaz could find himself in hot water after slapping a reporter backstage at UFC 276. Watch the video below:

Diaz, 37, was in attendance at the pay-per-view event in Las Vegas, which saw middleweight champion Israel Adesanya successfully defend his title against Jared Cannonier.

Before the start of the event, mixed martial arts journalist 'OG' Shawny Mack attempted to get an interview with Diaz backstage at the T-Mobile Arena.

But the UFC veteran was in no mood to talk after taking exception to tweets previously posted by Mack.

Introducing Diaz to the camera, Mack said: "Stockton's finest Nate Diaz, he's come to check out Sugar Sean [O'Malley] right?"

Diaz replied: "Nah, and you better watch your tweets about me."

"Oh, I know," Mack replied, with a smile on his face which appeared to anger Diaz.

The American fighter then responded by slapping the microphone out of Mack's hand.

He then aimed another slap at the reporter's face, causing his cap to fall off.

Is it not yet clear which tweets had angered Diaz, who has previously used his trademark 'Stockton Slap' during his fights in the Octagon.

He famously used it during his win over Conor McGregor in their first fight at UFC 196 back in 2016.

Diaz remains under contract with the UFC but has not fought since he was beaten by British fighter Leon Edwards at UFC 263 over a year ago.

He recently called on the UFC to either set him up with another fight or release him, as he eyes a potential bout with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

"UFC release now please or give me fight with anyone in July or August. I have bigger s*** to do," Diaz tweeted last month, alongside a video of Paul knocking out former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
