Spotify Actually Pay Joe Rogan Even More Than Reported $100 Million

Spotify Actually Pay Joe Rogan Even More Than Reported $100 Million

Rogan's controversial podcast was bought by Spotify but they pay a lot more for it than was originally claimed.

Joe Rogan's deal with Spotify for his controversial podcast is reportedly worth more than double what the original figures claimed.

UFC commentator and interviewer Rogan has one of the biggest podcasts in the world, with Spotify paying a lot of money to secure exclusivity to the 'Joe Rogan Experience.'

Of course the experience seems to be hearing anti-vax conspiracies and the presenter saying the N word on multiple occasions, something UFC champion Israel Adesanya recently defended Rogan for.

Spotify reportedly lost around $2 billion for the controversies and the streaming service also pay even more money to the host than originally thought.

It's long been claimed that Spotify paid $100 million for the podcast but, according to the New York Times, that figure is now believed to be at least $200 million, more than double the original thinking.

The report claims that the company spent more in May 2020 on just one podcast than it did in buying out entire companies such as Gimlet Media and The Ringer.

Whilst there has been claims that people are trying to 'cancel' Rogan, he is still being listened to by millions of people each and every week.

The 54-year-old, who claims he can enjoy himself orally, has also hit out at the trans and gay communities, claiming they've tried to cancel him.

Still the heterosexual white male still manages to bring in the listeners to his podcast so they're clearly not very good at his job as he constantly seems to have a platform to give his views.

Despite Adesanya backing the UFC commentator, he was actually taken out of the booth for the Nigerian's recent title defence against Robert Whittaker.

Instead it was Michael Bisping who took the controversial podcaster's place, sitting alongside Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier for UFC 271.

Whilst Adesanya spoke up in defence of Rogan, Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson soon changed his mind over the podcaster, after learning of his repeated use of the N word.

Previously the former WWE Superstar, turned world's biggest movie star, had defended the New Jersey native for his reation to his Covid misinformation.
