Drunk UFC Fighter Was Dragged Out Of T-Mobile Arena By Police, Dana White Comments

Dana White said Michael Chiesa had a "little too much to drink".

UFC fighter Michael Chiesa was dragged out of the T-Mobile Arena after "having a little bit too much to drink" last night.

Chiesa, who competes in the welterweight division, was in attendance to watch his teammate Julianna Pena pull off one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.

Pena was crowned the new UFC women's bantamweight champion after tapping out the dominant Amanda Nunes courtesy of a rear-naked choke in the second round.

She made history by becoming the first woman to give birth and then become a champion in UFC and the scenes after the triumph were just incredible.

Chiesa was sat in the front row alongside a slew of fellow fighters such as Miesha Tate, Chris Weidman, Justin Gaethje and Aljamain Sterling and got so caught up in the moment that he jumped the barricade in attempt to get in the Octagon.

But he never got to celebrate with Pena straight away as after having one too many beverages, he ended up falling, suffering a cut to his eye and being escorted out by police.

UFC president Dana White commented on the matter in his post-fight press conference.

“How do I say this without embarrassing the guy,” White said.

“He had a little bit too much to drink this evening. When she won, he freaked out and tried to jump into the octagon and fell down on his face, cut his eye and busted his eye open, then was arguing with the police that he needed to get into the octagon and be with her, because that’s his teammate.

“[The police] dragged him out, got him outside and calmed him down in the back, and I went back and talked to him for a minute, and we’re all good.”

White called Pena's win '"the biggest upset in mixed martial arts history", while the Venezuelan Vixen added: "Don't doubt me. The world is my oyster. You have the ability to do anything you want in this life."

Both Pena and Chiesa fight out of Sik-jitsu in Spokane, Washington. The 34-year-old is 18-6 in his MMA career and is currently on a two-fight losing streak.
