Conor McGregor makes vicious prediction for UFC comeback against Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor makes vicious prediction for UFC comeback against Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor has announced he will face Michael Chandler in his UFC return fight later this year.

Conor McGregor has already made his prediction for his UFC return bout with Michael Chandler.

On New Year's Eve, the two-weight UFC champion announced that he will be making his comeback against Chandler on June 29 in Las Vegas.

The two have been scheduled to meet ever since they were coaches on the Ultimate Fighter reality TV show.

December was the original plan but it didn't materialise due to McGregor not being in the USADA testing pool.

He announced "the greatest comeback of all time" in a video on Sunday, claiming that he and Chandler will lock horns at middleweight - a weight class neither has ever fought at before.

Although there appears to be a mutual respect between them, the two got physical during filming of 'TUF'.

And McGregor has already made a bold prediction for how he will fare against Chandler, who has lost three of his last four fights inside the Octagon.

The Notorious fighter believes he will "slice through" 'Iron' on his way to victory.

"I think I’m just going to slice through him," he told The MacLife in February.

"I think I’m a little too slicy for him than anyone else he’s fought. A little too snappy and whippy. I think I’ll slice through him."

McGregor has not fought in UFC since suffering a second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021, breaking his leg and forcing a doctor stoppage.

His last win was against Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone, who he knocked out inside the first round in January 2020.

That came after a lengthy lay-off following his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October 2018.

Former Bellator champ Chandler made his UFC debut on the same night as McGregor's second encounter with Poirier, producing an explosive win over Dan Hooker.

He then lost to Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje, before beating Tony Ferguson and succumbing to a submission defeat to Poirier.
