Conor McGregor receives 'call from Dana White' about UFC return

Conor McGregor is set to return to the UFC this summer.

Conor McGregor has revealed that he has received a call from the UFC about his highly-anticipated return.

McGregor hasn't fought since his crushing first-round TKO defeat (doctor stoppage) to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.

He broke his ankle in the main-event bout at UFC 264, but he's recovered and is raring to go - having shared clips of his training camp.

But McGregor still does not have a date for his UFC return as he voiced his frustration at Dana White.

However, the 35-year-old's return is finally in motion, and he could be making a return to the famed Octagon relatively soon.

He told ESPN that he will be returning to action this summer against Michael Chandler.

The exact date and event are not yet known, but it could be on June 29 for UFC 303.

"We got confirmation a few days ago that it's all systems go," said McGregor, who is currently promoting his first acting gig in the movie Road House.

He added: "And 'The Mac', 'The Notorious' will be returning to the UFC Octagon this summer."

McGregor will return to fighting against Chandler, who recently called out the Irishman on WWE Monday Night Raw.

The former UFC double champion exclaimed: "Shut up, Michael, you f**king imbecile.

"The man doesn't shut up. I seen him on Raw. I like Mike - I'm going to bust him up. I'm going to bust Mike up, yeah? If I say it, I do it... If I say it, it gets done. Put that on my stone."

McGregor is on a two-fight losing skid, having lost back-to-back fights to Poirier. He hasn't won a UFC contest since his drubbing over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 back in January 2020.

As for Chandler, he's also coming off a defeat to Poirier, suffering a submission defeat at UFC 281.
