One user wrote: "Gameplay absolutely horrendous! It is an absolute joke compared to FIFA 20 (which wasn't the best). Passing is absolutely stupid (a ball goes the whole length of the field like a hot knife through butter). Defending is terrible, and even if you used [to] be an absolute wall in FIFA 20, it doesn't matter."
While another Metacritic user said: "I really loved playing FIFA in the past. Man, I'd play for months and wouldn't be bored. But now, it has turned into a toy for teenagers. It's getting worse and worse."
Someone else added: "Horrible and scripted. What a terrible game. [FIFA] has always been horrible since [FIFA] 16, and getting worse by the year."
A fourth user posted: "Arguably one of the worse sports games ever. The defending is a joke, every team you play against plays the same style of play and keeps the ball for ages and then you just counter and score. Every game finishes 4-5 or 5-3. Such a joke."
