Super Bowl LVII players MISSED explosive half-time show due to strict enforcement of 'Rihanna rule'

Patrick Mahomes revealed what would happen if players didn't follow the strict orders over Rihanna's Super Bowl LVII half-time.

Some Super Bowl LVII players missed out on the electrifying half-time show after they were hit with a ‘Rihanna rule,’ according to Patrick Mahomes.

The Kansas City Chiefs secured the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday with a thrilling 38- 35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at the State Farm Stadium.

However, Rihanna stole the limelight with a spine-tingling performance for the half-time show, with the nine-time Grammy winner showing off her pregnancy bump.

The 34-year-old pop superstar was widely lauded after her appearance at Super Bowl LVII, despite not being paid for the performance due to a long-standing rule.

Mahomes, 27, revealed that he missed out on the performance from the ‘Rude Boy’ and ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker due to a rule enforced by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

The Chiefs quarterback, who was named MVP at the Super Bowl, said Reid warned them they could miss the rest of the match if they didn’t follow his orders.

“I didn’t [watch it] but I heard it was great,” he told Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“Coach Reid told us, he said, ‘If you go out to watch the performance, just keep walking because you’re not playing the rest of the game.’”

Host Jimmy Kimmel hilariously suggested that Rihanna, who had a son nine months prior with current partner A$AP Rocky, could name her second child after Mahomes.

However, NFL star Mahomes believes that Kimmel’s idea won’t work due to his son already having his name first.

“My name is taken by my son, Patrick Lavon Mahomes III, so I don’t know if that name is still allowed,” he said.

“She’ll have to think of another one!”
