Steve Aoki just threw his name into the hat for the worst first pitch of all-time.
The international DJ was on hand to do the ceremonial stunt during the MLB clash between the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros and he looked absolutely buzzing to be there.
But as Aoki took to the mound at Fenway Park, no one could have predicted just how bad his effort would have been.

In other celebrity appearances, we've seen the ball trickle along the floor or even come agonisingly close to fitting a poor spectator in the front row.
But Aoki's pitch was far worse.
As he wound up the ball his technique looked pretty decent, yet as he released it from his hand it went sailing high into the stands as members of the crowd watched on in amazement.

It honestly looked like it missed the catcher's glove by about 25 feet.
The pitch was actually so horrendously-bad that it rolled over the net behind home plate and dropped into the crowd.
In hilarious clips posted on social media, spectators can be heard giggling about it before eventually clapping him.
Even Aoki himself saw the funny side of things, tweeting: "I’m gonna stick to throwing cakes."
Throughout the years, there have been some pretty iconic opening pitches during baseball games – although some of them weren't iconic for the right reasons.

Rapper 50 Cent is renowned for boasting the accolade for the worst first pitch in history prior to a New York Mets game.
Mixed martial arts fan favourite Conor McGregor recently gave 50 Cent a run for his money though, his effort almost wiping out an unsuspecting fan who almost copped a ball to the chops.
Oh, and how could we forget about singer Carly Rae Jepson's effort which barely reached the surrounding photgraphers?

Either way, the MLB seems to keep doing the honorary first pitches with celebs – and us viewers absolutely love it.
