WWE legend Dave Bautista's contracts for films he works on include really bizarre clause

WWE legend Dave Bautista's contracts for films he works on include really bizarre clause

Dave Bautista has enjoyed success away from the wrestling ring, especially in his role as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy.

WWE legend Dave Bautista has opened up on an unusual contract clause included in the movies he works on in his widely successful acting career.

Bautista forged an incredible career in WWE before following in the same footsteps of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson by becoming a megastar in Hollywood.

Bautista was a six-time world champion and an integral part of the fan-favourite WWE faction Evolution alongside Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton.

The 53-year-old American star is well known for his role as Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, a role which he’ll leave after the third film is released in 2023.

Bautista has also starred in films like Spectre and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, as well as featuring in a cameo role in the Gears of War series.

However, the former six-time WWE world champion has maintained his incredible physique both during his professional wrestling career and acting career.

And Bautista insisted that the contracts for his movies included a clause that will allow him to “eat no less than every four hours.”

The wrestler-turned-actor also opened up on his diet for his meals, with Bautista eating as clean as he can and not overloading himself with lots of meat.

Speaking to Men’s Health magazine, Bautista said: “In between those meals if I get hungry, I typically do an almond butter and banana, or a vegan, gluten-free grilled cheese is my favourite go-to.”

Along with his diet, Bautista candidly spoke about his training regime and how he aims to work out every day, which can sometimes include two workout sessions.

“This is my sanctuary. I come here for peace of mind. It’s therapeutic for me,” he explained.

Bautista last competed in a WWE ring against former Evolution member Triple H in a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.

The WWE legend has since walked away from professional wrestling, with Bautista insisting that he has no desire to return to the ring.

“It’s hard to convince people that I’m actually retired. You have no idea how tough that discussion is,” he said at Zack Snyder’s Justice Con in 2021.

“When professional wrestlers retire, they don’t really retire. They kind of retire. But, you know, when the pay cheque’s big enough or the event’s big enough, they come out of retirement.

“It’s just not that way with me. I exited the business in such a storybook way, I’d never go back.

“I would never take away from that. I am just done, man. I really got to finish on my own terms and nothing is going to take away from that.”
