FIFA 23 player shows controversial method of stopping opponent from 'scoring a certain goal'

FIFA 23 player shows controversial method of stopping opponent from 'scoring a certain goal'

"You're the worst [type] of person if you do this," one fan said. Is this a 'dirty tactic' to use on EA Sports' FIFA 23?

A FIFA 23 owner has shared a ‘dirty tactic’ for players to prevent their opponents from scoring when they’re clean through -- and fans are divided on it.

A TikTok user shared the footage on social media, with their opponent clean through their defence and heading for a one-on-one showdown with the ‘keeper.

It can be a coin toss on if a player is actually going to score or not -- most likely they are going to score -- but there is another way of stopping them.

The footage, which can be viewed below, features a yellow-carded player being taken control of and wiping out the opponent’s closest player.

It’s at this point the referee blows his whistle and stops the play to dish out a second yellow and send off the player for their ‘tactical’ challenge.

Of course, the player that was sent off was essentially a pawn to be sacrificed, with the opponent now pulled back for a free-kick and not having a chance to score from a one-on-one.

Some people pointed out that it works ‘50 per cent’ of the time and the player must be booked for it to work correctly.

“I do this all the time,” one fan said in response to the footage.

Another TikTok user simply commented: “Has to be done sometimes.”

While another fan added: “Always do that.”

Someone else wrote: “Works every time about 50 per cent of the time.”

Not everyone is happy with the TikTok user for sharing the method, however, with one player labelling it a ‘dirty tactic’ to use in a FIFA 23 match.

One TikToker posted: “You’re the worst [type] of person if you do this.”

And another player simply said: “Proper dirty tactics.”

A third argued: “Actually, no, in the vast majority of circumstances the referee would play advantage, so this isn’t going to work 100 per cent of the time.”

“Then [they] score from free-kick and you’ve also lost a man,” one fan suggested.

EA Sports dropped FIFA 23 back in September for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia.
