Paige VanZant Shows Off Ghastly Gash On Her Foot

The UFC fighter didn't explain how she picked up the injury but it's certainly not a pretty one.

Let's be honest we all love a gruesome looking injury in sport really. Obviously we hope no one gets really hurt and we'll probably look at it through our fingers but the car crash principle is in full effect. We didn't get to see how Paige VanZant did her injury but it's pretty nasty.

My dad has never gone full Peter Griffin on what really grinds his gears but I'm very aware that people slowing down on the motorway to look at an accident on the other side of the road really winds him up.

I get where he's coming from, a good chunk of his working life is spent driving and most people get road rage whenever they are delayed, but checking out things like that is part of the human condition.

When tv channels decide not to show the replay of a bad challenge because of the injury that it's caused half of us are straight on social media to find out who managed to record it, or you know just rewind Sky.

23 year old UFC starlet Paige VanZant posted a picture of her own injury on Instagram and although there's nothing about how she did it we couldn't help but look:

VanZant will be hoping that the gash to her foot doesn't hamper her training too much and heals pretty soon as according to reports she is due back in the octagon at the beginning of October at UFC 216 in Las Vegas.

According to Flo Combat the Oregon native is set to step up a weight division and face bantamweight Jessica Eye at flyweight, with her opponent stepping down a division for the fight at 125 pounds

VanZant currently has a 9-3 record in MMA and the last time she fought was at UFC on Fox last December where she lost in the first round to a rear naked choke hold from Michelle Waterson.

Having beaten Alex Chambers at UFC 191 an appearance in October would be only her second appearance at a numbered show.
