While Jones was making his anticipated return to the Octagon following the UFC 200 fiasco. The former champion was pulled from the card on fight week as a result of a failed drug-test.
Tonight's rematch preceded their UFC 182 meeting where Jones defeated Cormier via unanimous decision to successfully defend the belt.
In the co-main event, Tyron Woodley retained the UFC welterweight title as he out-pointed Demian Maia in a snoozefest.
And earlier in the night, 'Cyborg' defeated promotion newcomer Tonya Evinger in the third round to become the new UFC women's featherweight champion.
