George Burgess, Hollywood megastar.

Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Well, we don't want to jump the gun but Burgess could be on his way to superstardom after being cast in an upcoming film alongside acting royalty.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Burgess has been given an acting role by South Sydney Rabbitohs owner and good friend Russell Crowe.

It's understood Burgess will make his apperance alongside Crowe himself as well as Liam Hemsworth.

NRL Premiership-winner Burgess recently took to Instagram post an image of himself in full military gear, captioning the photo: “Military fade”.

The gig is for Crowe’s next blockbuster film titles Land of Bad, which is due to be released sometime in 2023.

Filmed on the Gold Coast in Australia, the movie follows the story of a field air support controller undertaking a mission in the Philippines.

But when things go wrong, the entire Delta Force team is forced to rely upon a rogue veteran drone pilot called Reaper if they stand any chance of survival.

Reports suggest man mountain Burgess will play the role of Private Cooper in the movie, while Gladiator himself Crowe will be Reaper.

The Daily Telegraph's report says Burgess has always been interested in pursuing a career on the big screen, having previously appeared in Locusts in 2019 and Ascendant in 2021.

The 30-year-old's time in the NRL recently came to an end when he was released by the St-George Dragons.

“I just didn’t get along with Hook (Griffin) and he made it pretty clear to me, he pretty much wrote me off,” Burgess told the DT.

“I wasn’t too keen to go back to train under him to be honest.

“At the end of the day all you want is a coach to believe in you. There is no point me going back there if the coach doesn’t believe in me.”
