Nick Kyrgios has pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
The Australian tennis star appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court today (February 3) where he admitted to shoving over his ex-girlfriend in 2021.
The world number 20 arrived at the court alongside his family and his current girlfriend Costeen Hatzi.

AAP reports, via Perth Now, that his bid to have the charges thrown out on mental health grounds was rejected in the court.
The incident occurred in January 2021, involving an argument between himself and former partner Chiara Passari in the Canberra suburb of Kingston.
The court heard that Ms Passari was standing at the door of an Uber in an attempt to prevent the Australian from leaving.

The documents stated that the Uber driver would not leave until the door was closed.
Kyrgios became increasingly frustrated as he told the driver ‘dude leave’.
The argument resulted in the tennis player pushing the woman over.
The reports claim that the Wimbledon finalist stood over her and remarked ‘seriously’ as she lay on the ground.

Passari says she experienced shoulder pain along with grazing on her knee.
Within the argument, Kyrgios had told his then-partner to ‘leave me the f*** alone’ and to ‘just f***ing piss off’ as she was trying to get him to calm down.
The couple split following the incident, however, got back together.
Ms Passari reported the assault 10 months later after they again broke up.

The maximum sentence for common assault is two years in jail.
The tennis star’s lawyers had previously told the court that Kyrgios had suffered from mental health issues over the past seven years.
The Australian has been open in the past about his struggles.
He spoke of the 2019 Australian Open as ‘one of my darkest periods’, according to news.com.au.

He has also spoken about the court case in the past at the Japan Open in October.
He told reporters he had been dealing with it ‘for months’ and was taking it ‘day by day’.
Kyrgios said at the time: “There’s only so much I can control and I’m taking all the steps and dealing with that off the court.”
