John Kavanagh's Reaction To Conor McGregor Knocking Out Jose Aldo Is Pure Gold

John Kavanagh's Reaction To Conor McGregor Knocking Out Jose Aldo Is Pure Gold

The Irishman's coach couldn't believe that his man won the UFC featherweight title in just 13 seconds, when he beat Aldo in 2015.

John Kavanagh will be hoping fans get to watch a repeat of his famous reaction to Conor McGregor's win against Jose Aldo, when the Irishman returns to action on Saturday night.

The win at UFC 194 over Aldo, then UFC lightweight champion, came in just 13 seconds as McGregor's shock knockout skyrocketed his popularity in world sport.

Almost as entertaining as the KO was the reaction by his coach, captured cageside by the television cameras.

There's no doubt that the coach would have been as confident as his fighter going into the 2015 fight but even Kavanagh is clearly shocked at how quickly the end came about.

After the initial feeling out process the Brazilian champion came forward to attempt to land the first significant strike of the fight but McGregor slept his opponent with a brilliant left hand, pouncing on him to add the finishing shots before the referee called it off.

As well as Kavanagh's brilliant reaction there's also UFC announcer Bruce Buffer who is only just done dabbing himself off after being in the octagon when the KO occurs and he's left with his mouth wide open.

There's a great shot of someone on Aldo's team nearly in tears as the then champ hits the deck and his five year title reign is over.

Even the crowd are in utter shock in sights only seen when the Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak was ended by former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 30.

McGregor hasn't been in action for over a year, since his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018, but returns on Saturday at UFC 246 to face Donald Cerrone.

It's just the third time that the former two weight champion will fight at welterweight, after his two fight series with Nate Diaz ended with one win apiece in the division.

Future fights against Jorge Masvidal and champion Kamaru Usman could be on the horizon should he win whilst he'll also have an eye back at lightweight and the title fight between Khabib and Tony Ferguson in April.

Will Kavanagh be left with his mouth wide open in shock once again on Saturday?
