Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke to Mike Tyson about his epic clash with Conor McGregor and FINALLY explained why he attacked Dillon Danis following their title fight.

Of course, Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor to defend his UFC lightweight title at UFC 229 back in October 2018.

After stopping the Irishman, 'The Eagle' lunged himself at his rival's corner - targeting Danis, who made a series of taunts ahead of the championship bout.

He has now shared his thoughts on the incident with Danis, stating that he had to 'bite his heart' in a scary yet fascinating insight.

Nurmagomedov also mocked the 'Notorious' for tapping during their blockbuster showdown.

Speaking on Tyson's podcast, the UFC legend said: "Okay, when I catch his neck and I choke him like he tap you know.

"And I think hey, you bring like thousands people from Ireland here from different part of world, and you tap in front of them.

"And you talk like about warrior or something like this? How you can tap? Go sleep. Go sleep."

He added: "And he tap and I was like, okay, it's not enough. I need something you know, like.

"And I see some his corners like talk with me and I think oh, I have to bite his heart you know."

A rematch between the pair of lightweight stars had been mooted until Nurmagomedov's retirement following his victory over Justin Gaethje in October 2020.

While UFC president Dana White attempted to lure him back to the Octagon, the 29-0 fighter insists he's retired.
