"No More Mr Nice Guy" - Conor McGregor Makes Promise Ahead Of Potential Dustin Poirier Trilogy

Conor McGregor has hinted at going back to his old ways, saying: "No more mr nice guy" following his shock defeat to Dustin Poirier.

The former 'champ-champ' lost his comeback in sensational fashion as Poirier stopped him in the second round of their main-event clash at UFC 257.

He's eyeing a blockbuster trilogy against the American and it appears he'll be returning to his trash-talking self.

McGregor posted a picture of himself on Instagram, accompanied with the intriguing caption: "No more mr nice guy."

During the build-up to his rematch with Poirier, the 32-year-old was extremely respectful and even shared a classy exchange at the ceremonial weigh-ins.

A far cry from their first meeting in 2014, where McGregor exchanged verbal blows with Poirier who admitted that the mental warfare got the better of him ahead of their featherweight bout at UFC 178.

Ahead of a potential third fight, the Irishman looks set to bring back the true 'Notorious'.

McGregor and Poirier appear on a collision course to run it back for a third time inside the famed Octagon.

Reflecting on his first knockout defeat of his MMA career, McGregor said he deserved the debilitating calf-kicks for thinking about a boxing match against Manny Pacquiao.

On social media, he wrote: "I enjoyed racking up some more time inside the famed UFC Octagon. 40 seconds in three years is all I'd had up to this bout, I was savouring every second and enjoying my work.

"A little single-disciplined in my approach and stance with mostly boxing. It's what I get for picking this bout and opponent as a precursor to a boxing match against Pacman.

"I deserved to get the legs kicked off me going in with this thinking. This is not the game to play around with.

"Besides this, my shots where sharp and I was in full control. Albeit the leg attacks where building up on me throughout the course. 18 in total thrown at me, with the final one buckling my leg fully, that was that.

"The peroneal nerve compromised. Fascinating! First time to experience it. Then a tremendous finishing flurry by my opponent. Hats off! A well fought fight by 'The Diamond.'

"One a piece now with a Trilogy bout for all the marbles! Wow! Exciting! Not a trilogy I was expecting, nor the tactical affair I was anticipating, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't meant to be. This is exactly how this was."
