UFC president Dana White has confirmed that Jon Jones' first fight at heavyweight will most likely be against the winner of Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou.

Jones, 33, vacated the light heavyweight title last August and has since been undergoing a body transformation ahead of his eagerly awaited climb up to heavyweight.

The UFC legend, who fought against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 last February, recently teased fans with a sneak peek at his massive physique at 250lbs.

UFC has confirmed that a rematch between Miocic and Ngannou will take place at UFC 260 on 17th March for the heavyweight championship.

Speaking to Sportsnet, White confirmed that Jones would be moving to heavyweight for the next fight.

And the 51-year-old UFC chief has revealed that the winner of Miocic and Ngannou will "probably" step into the octagon with Jones for a mega-fight.

"Heavyweight. Jon Jones is going to move to heavyweight," White said.

"We're going to have Stipe vs Francis, and the winner of that will probably fight Jon Jones.

"The guy's been the king of the light heavyweight division forever. I think he thinks it's time to move up to heavyweight.

"He knows his body, he knows his abilities, he knows better than anybody else does. But it's impressive.

"Let me tell you, who wants to fight Francis Ngannou? The answer is nobody, okay? Nobody wants to fight that guy. But Jon Jones does. Pretty impressive."

White also insisted that Jones is in the "right place" with his mindset and preparation for heavyweight, saying fans could "see a lot of Jon Jones" in 2021.

The UFC president added: "He seems like he's in the right place. He's doing all the right things right now, he's saying all the right things.

"If everything plays out for us the way that it's looking, in our 2021 we're going to see a lot of Jon Jones."
