UFC Legend Jon Jones Asked To Name His Five Greatest Fighters Of All Time

Jon Jones revealed that Georges St-Pierre is amongst his picks for the best fighters of all time, despite criticising the MMA legend's UFC exit.

The 32-year-old UFC light heavyweight champ is widely regarded as one of the best UFC fighters in history alongside 'GSP.'

Speaking ahead of his UFC 239 clash with Thiago Santos in 2019, a reporter asked Jones who would be in his top three or five fighters of all time.

Jones said that his three picks would be Anderson Silva, Jose Aldo and 'GSP,' even though he suggested the latter "went out a little bit of a hater."

'Bones' explained: "Top fighters of all time? My favourites are Anderson Silva -- [he's] always going to be up there with me.

"Even though Georges St-Pierre went out a little bit of a hater -- I feel about his comments -- he'll always be one of my favourites. He was one of my initial idols. I loved the way he carried himself.

"And let's see. Who else? I mean, I'll have to say Jose Aldo. I'm gonna say Jose Aldo.

"Demetrious Johnson, he's good, he's good, he's cool and all. But for me personally, I loved Jose Aldo's style."

Jones admitted that he is "asked that question a lot" and his selection "always changes."

But the UFC legend also added that both Demetrious Johnson and Fedor Emelianenko are amongst his best fighters of all time.

"Yeah, and it always changes. I get asked that question a lot," he said.

"Sometimes I'll throw Demetrious in there or Fedor in there, but today I'm feeling Jose Aldo."

'GSP,' who retired from MMA last year, walked away from the sport in 2013 before making his long-awaited UFC return in 2017 against Michael Bisping.

The 39-year-old Canadian legend has previously explained why he made the initial decision to leave the sport in 2013.

"When I left it was not because of damage [to my body], it was more anxiety, nervousness, I couldn't sleep well. I kept thinking, it was claustrophobic, just too much pressure," he said.

"When you're champion, you feel you're the centre of the world.

"Even though you're not, it's an illusion, because of the pressure, and it's a pressure that is different than other sport because it's a surviving pressure, your life is threatened in the real, real deepest way... You can die."
