Jorge Masvidal was seen enjoying a pizza on the flight to Abu Dhabi despite still needing to shed some weight before his welterweight title bout with Kamaru Usman at UFC 251.

The BMF champ posted a picture of him wearing an expensive Versace robe and tucking into the Italian delicacy while on his private jet after stopping off at Rome Airport on the way to Yas Island.

While you can't really fault Masvidal's craving for a slice of the good stuff, it is a bit strange to see him have a big scran given what he said about the amount of weight he needs to cut before fight night.

Masvidal hasn't fought since his incredible victory over Nate Diaz at UFC 244 in November and after taking the main event fight on six days notice, he revealed he needs to lose 20 pounds before Friday's weigh-in on 'Fight Island'.

Appearing on ESPN First Take with Stephen A. Smith and Domonique Foxworth, Masvidal said: "Yeah I got 20 pounds to go. I'm taking the fight on 6 days notice."

The 35-year old has been no stranger to intense weight-cuts and confirmed he must get down to 170lbs in a extremely short window - which perplexed host Smith, who asked him: "You gotta lose 20 pounds in 6 days?"

'Gamebred' responded: "Yes sir when they made the fight official I was 191 pounds. So Friday, I gotta lose that weight.

"I've been doing this a long time, it won't be the first time I have to cut a crazy amount of weight at short notice.

"Like I've always said God has my back so I've got no worries."

The 33-year old has been dealt a huge blow going into the fight as his long-time head coach Mike Brown has tested positive during for COVID-19 during pre-fight screenings and will therefore not be in his corner.

As per ESPN, Paulino Hernandez, Jesus Gallo and Abraham Kawa from American Top Team will be in his corner but he's yet to make a decision on the fourth member.
