Khabib Nurmagomedov continued his winning streak as a coach, brilliantly guiding top contender Islam Makhachev to a big win over Thiago Moises.

Nurmagomedov is now 5-0 as a coach - 4-0 inside the famed Octagon - following Makhachev's dominant victory at UFC Vegas 31.

The 29-year-old, who is riding an impressive eight-fight winning streak, submitted Moises in the fourth round of their main-event clash in a statement performance.

And 'The Eagle' was pivotal in his protege's success, steering him to victory from Octagon side.

He has followed in his father's footsteps and become an elite coach.

UFC shared a video of Nurmagomedov coaching from cageside and it makes for incredible viewing.

Makhachev called out Rafael dos Anjos following his win, but the former UFC lightweight champion reckons he could 'finish' Dustin Poirier and 'maul' the current UFC 155lbs king Charles Oliveira.

Nurmagomedov said: "When you're 30 years [old], I think your mental and physical prime become on the same level - 30, 31, 32, this is the perfect age.

"And right now, Islam at this age, he has a very good win streak - mentally, physically, his boxing, kicking, his grappling, everything, I think he's a little bit of a step ahead from all these guys.

"Like, I truly believe he can finish Dustin Poirier. Maybe Dustin is going to be upset, but I truly believe he can finish Dustin Poirier. He can maul Charles Oliveira.

"I don't think Charles can play with him like this, all jiu-jitsu, guard, I don't think. I truly believe it. We just need time. We just need time and no accidents."

Will Makhachev emulate Nurmagomedov and become UFC lightweight champion? Let us know what you think.
