Asked by TMZ what's next for 'Iron Michael', the UFC boss replied: "That's a good question. I mean, there's a few opportunities."

He added: "He can fight Gaethje, we'll see. We don't have anything done yet but that makes sense and that'd be a fun fight. Imagine Chandler and Gaethje."

Chandler's lone UFC victory came against Dan Hooker when he brutally stopped the top contender in stunning fashion on his UFC debut earlier this year.

As for Gaethje, he hasn't fought since his submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov last year.

His defeat to 'The Eagle' snapped an impressive four-fight winning streak, which included a destructive win over Tony Ferguson.

A clash between Gaethje and Chandler would pit the No.2 ranked lightweight against the No.4 ranked lightweight in a potential 'Fight of the Year' contender.

Chandler, though, appears to be angling for an immediate rematch with 'Do Bronx' following his effort in the first round of their UFC title fight.

He said: "There's a case to be out there, and I've seen a lot of people say maybe an immediate rematch.

"There's a case to be made that I have one fight and beat any other guys in the top five, and I'm right there. I do believe I'm a big player at this point. I do believe I'm world-class.

"I do believe I'm just as good as any of these guys. I do believe that Charles Oliveira beats anybody else in the top five.

"You look at him against (Dustin) Poirier, you look at him against Conor (McGregor), you look at him against (Justin) Gaethje.

"I mean that's a tough test for anybody, so losing to Charles Oliveira doesn't make a me a guy that shouldn't be fighting for a world title anytime soon."
